Champion of Champions Trophy - New Delhi, India
Louis Fernandes convincingly beat Wajahat Mohammed in both the play-off matches played on the 14th & 15th of August 2013 to secure his place for the Champions of Champions Competition which will be held in New Delhi, India in October. In the first match the scores were 25-0 & 25-4 in favour of Louis, whilst in the second match Louis dominated again to win 25-0 & 25-0.
Louis and Francis D'Costa will represent Canada for the Champions Trophy. Two top players from each country will compete for this prestigious trophy.

Srinivas of India "Champion of Champions"
2 current national champions contested for this coveted trophy - one from India and the other from Sri Lanka. Srinivas defeated Chamin Cooray (SL) by 2 games to 1 in a closely contested final. The 3rd place was won by Fernando (SL) who beat Yogesh 2-0 in a match played by 2 world champions.
Rashmi Kumari beat Ilavazhazi 2-0 in the women division, a match played by 2 - twice world champions.
Louis Fernandes of Canada finished in the 5th position by defeating Shivaram Gowadagere (USA) 2-0. Whilst Nazam came in 7th beating his colleague Shafee 2-0.
In SRR final Yogesh defeated Fernando, whilst Kumari overcame Ilavazhazi for the 3rd place.

Louis continues his dazzling display at the Champions Tournament
Louis Fernandes entered the quarter-finals of the champions of champions trophy, currently being played in New Delhi. He won 2 of his 3 group matches beating Anar Ali (UK) 2-0 and Yacob (Poland) 2-0. He lost his 3rd match to Yogesh Pardeshi 2-1. Louis also got another black slam against Yogesh. Louis' opponent in the quarters is Chamin Cooray the reigning Sri Lankan champion.
Francis D'Costa missed his quarter-final spot by losing to a formidable opponent Shivaram Gowdagere by 2 games to 1. Francis beat Robery Bany (Poland) 2-0 and lost to the current world champion Nishantha Fernando 2-0. Fernando got a black slam against Francis after Francis missed a white slam. Fernando also missed 3 white slams and Francis 1 black.
The Quarter finals line-up is as follows: Fernando (SL) vs Shafee (Maldives), Srinivas (IND) vs Shivaram (USA), Cooray (SL) vs Louis (Canada) and Yogesh (IND) vs Hassa Azim (Maldives)

Louis finishes 10th and Francis 13th in the Swiss Round Robin league, a warm up tournament before the main tournament.
Louis finished 3-2 and had a black slam against German Jorge. His loses were against the current Indian champion K.Srinivas and current Sri Lankan champion Chamil Cooray.
Francis lost to Srinivas, Current double world champion Rashmi Kumari and Sri Lankan Champion R.Joseph.
Shivaram Gowdagere finished 16th (2-3).
Double world champion Yogesh Pardeshi will play the current world champion Nishantha Fernando in the finals of the SRR and Rashmi Kumari will play another double world champion S. Ilavazhaki.
